Application Notes

In order to make good use of geotechnical instruments, it is important to have some idea of what kind of instruments are best used for what purposes. This is determined by a combination of factors: what kind of construction project is planned, what kind of ground is involved, what kind of measurements are required, why they are required, and so on. The pages under this heading are designed to give some pointers in this area. Included here are:

A short introduction.
Basic definitions of some terms used.
A list of our main types of product with a description of the kind of task they might be used for.
Different types of application for which geotechnical instrumentation is appropriate.
A conversion table/ready-reckoner for various types of geotechnical calculations.
