Cable Free Tiltsensor

Electrolevels are small fluid based sensors containing no moving parts. They are energised as part of a simple full or half bridge circuit, with the resultant output dependant on the amount and direction of tilt applied to the sensor.

Integrated into the Tiltmeter is an A/D converter and a digital radio. The radio has a range of approximately 250 metres (dependant on version and site conditions) and contains a unique address code as part of its transmission of digital data.

The Tiltmeter itself is very small and has to be mounted in a way which isolates it from any temperature gradient effects and allows for zero adjustment during installation and sometimes subsequently during monitoring.

The Soil Instruments’ Tiltmeter is designed to be fixed directly to the structure.

The Soil Instruments’ Cable Free Tiltmeter is a very low power, low EMC device which conforms to the specifications laid down under EN50121 1-4, making it particularly suitable for work in or adjacent to railway lines and in tunnels.

No cable at all between sensor and datalogger.
Up to 10 years continuous readings (hourly).
Digital radio transmission ensures quality and security of data.
Low cost, simple, rugged sensor technology requiring very low power to read.
Sensor strings can give a complete profile of vertical displacements.
Easy to automate via data acquisition and I-Site software.
